The law firm WilliamsMcCarthy LLP announced the recent addition of Associate Morgan E. Knight. Her practice will focus on family law, employment law, and municipal/local government law.
Before joining WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, Knight served as a law clerk for the City of Champaign Legal Department from 2023 to 2025, where she gained experience in local government and municipal law. During the summers of 2023 and 2024, she was a summer associate at WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, gaining broad experience across a variety of practice areas.
Knight earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from North Central College. In 2024, she was awarded Second Place in the Franklin W. Klein Law Student Writing Competition sponsored by the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association for her paper co-authored with Robert Mannis, “Existential Blue: Police and Municipal Duty, Liability, and Recommendations for Suicide Prevention.”

Originally from Rochelle, Illinois, Knight is passionate about practicing law in the region where she grew up. “It’s rewarding to serve clients in the community I know so well,” she said. “Having that local connection helps me better understand their needs and provide thoughtful, compassionate guidance.”
