Client Spotlight – Jones Natural Chews
The Jones family knows meat – they’ve been in the meat cutting and butchering business for generations dating back to 1952. The best cuts of meat also produce the best dog treats, and Jones Natural Chews leaned into their tradition to become leaders in the industry. As the company has grown, they’ve leaned on the team at WilliamsMcCarthy LLP.
On May 9, 2024, the United States Supreme Court issued an opinion regarding whether Section 507(b) of the Copyright Act serves to bar damages for offenses that predate suit by more than three years. The court held that there is no three-year damages bar and the Copyright Act entitles a copyright owner to recover damages for any timely claim.
Attorneys Joel Huotari and Benjamin Kimes provide additional insight about what this means for Copyright cases in the 7th Circuit.
We’re thrilled to welcome James T. Zuba and Aisha S. Moe-Lindvall to the firm. James joins WilliamsMcCarthy LLP from Zuba & Associates, P.C., where he combined poise in the courtroom, knowledge of the law, and a commitment to pursuing the best interests of his clients. He focuses his practice on family law and other areas that his experience and expertise may draw him to.
Aisha served as an intern in the office of Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Jill Karofsky, where she researched case law and produced and revised bench memos. She concentrates her practice on family law.
Reflections from our Summer Associates
In the legal profession, summer associate positions provide law students with hands-on experience working for a law firm in the summer after their first or second year of law school. These positions are opportunities to experience life as an attorney firsthand, allowing students to embed themselves in a firm to do much of the same work they will likely do as a full-time associate post-graduation.
James Roddy and returning summer associate Morgan Knight each share their thoughts as they wrap up their time and return to finish their final year of law school.
