Carol A. Hartline was born in Sycamore, Illinois. Ms. Hartline graduated magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Hartline served as an editor for the university’s Law Review. She also studied international law through the University of Bordeaux, France.

Ms. Hartline concentrates her practice in workers’ compensation defense, employment law, and insurance defense. She is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Winnebago County Bar Association. She has concentrated in the area of workers’ compensation defense for over 14 years. Ninety-nine percent of the cases have been in defense of employers. She handles cases from trial through all levels of appeal. She also serves as an Arbitrator in the 17th Judicial Circuit Alternative Dispute Resolution program. She was appointed as Chair of the Illinois Bar Association Section Counsel on Workers’ Compensation.
Ms. Hartline was chosen by her peers for Leading Lawyers Network. She received recognition in the areas of employment law, insurance defense, and workers’ compensation defense.
She is active in various civic undertakings and is currently serving on the board of Milestone and the Visiting Nurses Association. She has previously served on the board of directors for the American Red Cross and the Rockford Dance Company.
