Rockford Lawyers Appointed to Leadership Roles with the Illinois State Bar Association

Several WilliamsMcCarthy LLP lawyers have been appointed or re-appointed to various leadership roles within the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) section councils. The ISBA is the premier bar association in the state, with the section councils being responsible for enhancing the professional capabilities of Illinois lawyers. Section councils also are responsible for reviewing proposed legislation that may affect their members’ practice areas.

The following attorneys have been appointed or re-appointed to leadership roles for the 2019/2020 bar year:

John J. Holevas
John Holevas

John Holevas has been re-appointed to the Civil Practice & Procedure Section Council, which enhances the knowledge and professional capabilities of lawyers who practice civil law; disseminates current legislations and case law; and promotes improvement in the civil law system.

John is a partner with WilliamsMcCarthy LLP, serves as the firm’s president, and concentrates his practice in commercial and complex civil litigation.

Daniel Huntley

Daniel Huntley has been re-appointed to the Real Estate Law Section Council, which enhances and promotes the communication of real estate lawyers statewide; disseminates information on current real estate laws and practices; participates in continuing legal education programs; reviews legislation and procedural changes affecting real estate law and practice; educates the public; and works with other professionals and businesses in the real estate industry.

Daniel is an associate with WilliamsMcCarthy LLP and concentrates his practice in corporate law, real estate law, estate and trust law and agribusiness law.

Wendi Werren

Wendi Werren has been appointed to the Labor and Employment Section Council, which is responsible for informing section members and the public of important developments in labor law; reviewing and commenting on proposed legislation and regulations in the labor law field; and fostering improvement in the efficient and equitable administration of federal and state labor legislation.
