Mr. Richard L. Thies, former Illinois Bar President, remembers senior partner, Thomas S. Johnson, in his recent letter to the Rockford Register Star that was published on February 26, 2016.

“Tom Johnson was a giant among Illinois lawyers,” said Mr. Thies. “His passing reminds those of us who knew him of his many contributions to the public and to the legal profession for which he will long be remembered.

“At the national level, Tom served on four different American Bar Association commissions, one of which was the Access to Justice Commission, out of which national policies and legislation resulted in access to the courts for all, regardless of economic, racial or cultural condition.”
