Background

Carol A. Hartline was born in Sycamore, Illinois. Ms. Hartline graduated magna cum laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Hartline served as an editor for the university's Law Review. She also studied international law through the University of Bordeaux, France.

Ms. Hartline concentrates her practice in several areas of litigation including, workers' compensation defense, employment law, and insurance defense. She is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Winnebago County Bar Association. She also serves as an Arbitrator in the 17th Judicial Circuit Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

She is active in various legal and civic undertakings, currently serving on the Board for the Winnebago County Bar Foundation, and the American Red Cross. She is also a graduate of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce leadership class.
